The Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute’s Dutch office has joined an international consortium of 15 partners from nine member states and associated countries working on the Route 2 Circular Economy: Policy and Innovation project, or R2π. The consortium includes three sets of partner organizations, including experts from the business sector, public bodies, think-tanks and research institutes.

Part of the environment theme of the EU’s Horizon 2020 (H2020) research program., the three-year, €3 million project will focus on highlighting sustainable business models for the circular economy and developing and proposing policies designed to support such business models. As part of this effort, project partners will also work to define best practices for the circular economy and to develop R2π policy guidelines and a toolbox to support business leaders and policymakers in accelerating the growth of the circular economy.

Launched in November 2016, the R2π project will run through October 2019.
